Johnsonville is recalling nearly 100,000 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage over plastic contamination fears.

The Wisconsin-based company issued the recall after a customer found 'hard green plastic', the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said in a release on Friday.

Health officials say no one has reported any 'adverse reactions' yet from consuming the sausages.

The packages were shipped to stores nationwide and internationally, but it's unclear which states - and potentially countries - are affected by the recall.
