A PE teacher has shared the six rules she follows religiously for a healthy body and mind, and revealed why you don't need fancy health foods or supplements to get your dream body.

Belinda Norton, 44, from the Gold Coast, has gained a name in the fitness industry for having a better body in her forties than she did in her twenties, and she now regularly shares health and fitness advice on Instagram.

Belinda's 'six body basics' include walking in the morning light for 30 minutes daily and only eating mineral and nutrient-loaded foods.

The first thing the PE teacher said she makes sure to do every single day is walk in the morning light every day for at least 30 minutes.

'Breathe in the fresh air and take time to listen to the outdoor sounds and feel the ground beneath your feet,' Belinda posted on Instagram.

'Focus on the present, focus on the steps you take.'

By doing this, the 44-year-old said it becomes easy to shut out the excess noise and stresses of the world, instead merely focusing on your walk.

Belinda also finds that when she does her walk, it sets her up for a healthier and happier day.
