The government has offered nurses, midwives and ambulance workers a 5 per cent pay rise next year, ending months of strikes that caused misery for patients.
It followed three days of talks involving the unions Unison, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, GMB, Unite and the Royal College of Nursing.
In a statement a government spokesperson said: 'The Government and the NHS Staff Council – which brings together NHS employers and unions representing the Agenda for Change workforce – have completed negotiations and reached a final offer.
'This includes additional pay for 2022/23 and a pay settlement for 2023/24.'
