World No 1 Oliver Townend will be looking to prove a point at the Burghley Horse Trials as he heads into today's showjumping phase in second place.
The controversial rider was left out of the British team for the World Equestrian Games next week despite winning Burghley last year and finishing second at Badminton this year.
