Steve Bruce has experienced nearly everything in a football career spanning more than 40 years. But never before been forced to take cover from a cabbage.

‘I'll reflect on it and roll my sleeves up, unless I really think it affects the individuals,’ Bruce said.

‘I will battle on. That’s always been my philosophy until told otherwise. The one thing I've always had is the determination to roll up my sleeves and get stuck in. I'll always have a go. But you need results.’
