In less than two weeks he has removed the shackles crippling the players under Jose Mourinho and instilled a confidence that has helped United win his three matches with an aggregate scoreline of 12-3. The evidence of Solskjaer's turnaround is not just visible on the pitch either with statistics proving the Norwegian has transformed the Red Devils in almost every area of the pitch. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won his three matches as Manchester United caretaker with ease Paul Pogba and his United team-mates celebrate their first goal in the win over Bournemouth Solskjaer said on his return to the club that he wanted to restore the offensive brand of football that United were once synonymous with. Under his management, they have so far scored an average of four goals per game whereas they were only managing 1.7 per game this season under Mourinho. The attacking improvement is also visible in the total number of shots and shots on target. United have managed 14.7 shots in all of their comfortable victories over Cardiff, Huddersfield and Bournemouth, of which nine have been on target. That compares to 12.7 under Mourinho, while just six of those where on target as United struggled to produce any sort of fluidity in the final stages of the Portuguese's tumultuous reign. Under Mourinho, United were often accused of failing to control games that they should have done. That is an improvement from the 1.7 they were shifting under Mourinho but Solskjaer is still awaiting a clean sheet. David de Gea has enjoyed a much easier few weeks than since the start of the season with him facing 8.7 shots per game as opposed to the 13.9 he was having to keep out in recent months. David de Gea has enjoyed a much easier few weeks than since the start of the season Pogba's all-round game has been much improved under Solskjaer and he has netted four times One of the players who has benefited most from Solksjaer's appointment has been Paul Pogba. Solskjaer believes his players are more likely to perform if they are permitted to be comfortable in their own skin and given a freedom to express themselves on the pitch. He is definitely being proven correct by Pogba with the Frenchman scoring four goals since his former academy coach arrived and his all-round game has been much improved.
