A miserable week for Bolton Wanderers off the pitch was confounded on it with a 2-1 defeat to Bristol City.
Bolton chairman Ken Anderson's public spat with Forest Green owner Dale Vince had dominated the news at the relegated-threatened club, but the 499 travelling fans must have hoped their fortunes had turned when Will Buckley gave the Trotters a 58th minute lead.
City manager Lee Johnson responded with a triple substitution in the 61st minute and two of them scored shortly after.
