Real Madrid edged towards the Spanish Cup semi-finals with a first-leg quarter-final win over Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Girona stunned Santiago Solari’s side by scoring after seven minutes but Madrid peppered their opponents’ goal for the remainder of the game and 18-year-old Vinicius was inspired.
He won a penalty, that Sergio Ramos dispatched with a Panenka, and chalked up his eighth assist of the season with a cross for Karim Benzema to get the fourth as the hosts ran out comfortable winners.

The last time Courtois played a Copa del Rey game at the Bernabeu it was in the 2013 final when he was on the winning Atletico Madrid side against Real Madrid.
