Mauricio Pochettino insists that Eric Dier and Lucas Moura must not shoulder any blame after the pair missed penalties as Tottenham crashed out of the Carabao Cup in a dramatic shootout against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.

After the teams were tied by a 2-2 aggregate scoreline over the two legs, Chelsea converted all four of their spot-kicks but Dier blazed over and then Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga blasted over the top.

Pochettino said: 'I don't need to talk with this. Only the guy who takes the responsibility can miss. They took that responsibility to shoot. It is football. They are disappointed like all of us. It is normal in football.
