Derby County are poised to complete the signing of defender Efe Ambrose on a short-term contract on Monday.

The 30-year-old free agent arrived at the club last week, as revealed by Sportsmail, and had his medical but the official signing of paperwork was held up over the weekend as Derby prepared to face Hull City on Saturday.

Ambrose last played a competitive game at the end of December before triggering a clause to be released from his contract with Hibernian in January.
