The owner of Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy says the gelding could head straight to the Festival after missing his intended prep-race on Saturday.

The gelding who has won at the last two Festivals had been an expected runner in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park but Philip Reynolds insisted his absence was no cause for alarm.

Reynolds said: 'All is good with Percy. (Trainer) Pat Kelly is just happy with where he is and didn't feel we needed to run him this weekend.'

Reynolds said there was a chance Presenting Percy, who won over the Galmoy Hurdle last month on his only start this season, could run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse next Saturday.

Reynolds also dismissed suggestions that the lack of race practise over fences might prompt Presenting Percy to be diverted to the Stayers' Hurdle.
