Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy could miss warm-up run at Fairyhouse this weekend

Owner Philip Reynolds says it is '50-50' if Presenting Percy has his Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup prep-run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday.

The Pat Kelly-trained Gold Cup favourite was a surprise withdrawal from last weekend's Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park and currently will have to go to the Festival on the back of just one run over hurdles.

Reynolds said the prospect of racing on rough ground at Gowran Park was the reason for not running Presenting Percy with no risks being taken.

Reynolds added: 'I went down to see him myself at the weekend, the horse is in great shape. The intention was to go back. Pat had the horse in as good a shape as he needed to but the ground was as bad as it's been in Ireland all year.

'We may run him this weekend. Every bit of rain helps. There are 12 entries and it would be nice to get him out in a small field. We are trying to minimize the risk as much as possible. I'd say it is 50-50 whether he runs or not.
