Gareth Southgate will watch Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton for the second weekend running as he nears an England recall, while assistant Steve Holland is being sent to check on young midfielders Declan Rice and Sean Longstaff.
Heaton looks certain to be included in the squad for this month’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro, 21 months on from the last of his three caps.
Southgate saw the 32-year-old star in last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Spurs and he will again be in the stands at Turf Moor when they take on Crystal Palace on Saturday.
