Lost beneath the fuss over Maurizio Sarri’s spat with his goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga at Wembley was the nature of the winning penalty.
At the end of what had been quite an average shoot-out Sterling’s kick was as perfect it could possibly be. Sterling can have the occasional problem in front of goal but that was a superb effort under pressure.
