JASON ROY 8.5/10: Making brilliant progress. I have an inkling the penny has dropped and he’ll become a contender for Test cricket this summer.
JONNY BAIRSTOW 6: Not in the greatest form but showed his character in Grenada to help set up that epic total with a half-century. Was bowled again in the last game.
ALEX HALES 7: He’s a very canny player who gets himself in and then accelerates. He will push the opening pair all the way for a World Cup place.

JOE ROOT 7.5: Don’t worry about his last couple of dismissals. He’s a complete cricketer. Fastest England batsman to 5,000 one-day international runs. Busy and doesn’t need to blast it.
