Leicester face the prospect of needing to break their transfer record to sign Youri Tielemans this summer after being quoted €45million (£40m) by Monaco.
That was the price the French side insisted on in January when Leicester discussed the possibility of securing Tielemans on a loan with a view to a permanent deal, Sportsmail can reveal.
Leicester declined that option in the end, instead bringing in Tielemans on a purely temporary basis to see how the 21-year-old took to life in the Premier League. Adrien Silva went the other way, joining Monaco in a straight loan deal also.
