The first legs of the Europa League last 16 were played on Thursday following two nights of Champions League action.

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat away from home while Chelsea secured a 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

A reunion at the Gazprom Arena

Two former Arsenal team-mates were reunited ahead of Zenit St Petersburg's match against Villarreal. 

Santi Cazorla and Andrey Arshavin, who played together at the Gunners for one year, seemed to be in high spirits before the clash.  

Cazorla's Villarreal came out on top on the night, securing a 3-1 win to take into the second leg.
