Jedd O'Keeffe says he will stand by Joe Colliver despite the jockey being rostered to appear at Harrogate Magistrate's Court next Thursday on a drink driving charge, the same day he is due to ride the trainer's Sam Spinner in the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Colliver is understood to be confident that the date of the hearing will be deferred to allow him to ride at the Festival.
The 27-year-old rider served three months of a ten-month prison sentence in 2016 and had to wear an electronic tag on his release after persuading a friend to lie and says he was behind the wheel when Colliver's car crashed and he was charged with drink driving in 2015.
