Jason Roy is set to be given his chance in this summer's Ashes series against Australia after his white-ball form convinced England's selectors he is a better fit at the top of the order than Keaton Jennings.
Roy has been a regular in England's one-day team during their rise to No 1 in the world over the past four years and has proved he has the temperament to thrive on the international stage.
England have signaled they are taking a new direction in terms of the Test team when they ousted Mark Ramprakash as batting coach on Friday. He will be replaced by Graham Thorpe, currently lead batting coach in charge of England's white-ball teams.
