Former Leeds United chairman Bill Fotherby has passed away.
Fotherby, who was part of the team behind the scenes at Elland Road that helped Howard Wilkinson win the league in 1992, died after a short illness while on holiday in Spain.
He became a director at Leeds in 1978 and worked closely with Leslie Silver during the 1980s. He was instrumental in appointing Wilkinson in 1988. Wilkinson led Leeds to the second division title in 1990.
