Liverpool will have to do without captain Jordan Henderson as they attempt to return to the top of the Premier League this weekend.

Henderson's damaged ankle, that forced him off 13 minutes into the epic Champions League away win over Bayern Munich in midweek, is set to keep him sidelined for club and country for the next fortnight.

It means he will miss the European Championship qualifiers against the Czech Republic, a week on Friday, and Montenegro, the following Monday, but be back in time for the club's quarter-final tie with Porto next month.

'It's serious enough probably to rule him out of the weekend and the international break will be long enough hopefully to bring him back,' said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
