The Three Lions came from behind to run out comfortable winners in Podgorica on Monday night but the game was marred by chants aimed in the direction of some Three Lions players, particularly Danny Rose and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Gareth Southgate confirmed England will report Montenegro for racial abuse after monkey chants were made at the two players while a cigarette lighter was also thrown at Hudson-Odoi. Raheem Sterling celebrates after scoring England's fifth goal against Montenegro on Monday And Sterling has affirmed that his celebration, which saw the Manchester City star put his hands to his ears, was a clear message to racist Montenegro fans. Taking to Twitter, Sterling shared a photo of himself performing the celebration, writing: 'Best way to silence the haters (and yeah I mean racists)'. The 24-year-old also accompanied the tweet with the hashtag 'get some education' as he blasted the home crowd. Speaking after the game, his manager Southgate told ITV Sport: 'I definitely heard abuse of Danny Rose when he got booked. There’s no doubt in my mind that happened. We’ll make sure that that’s reported officially, it’s not acceptable.' Asked about Sterling's celebration and whether the winger had also received racial abuse, Southgate said: 'I’m not sure yet, I’ve had a quick chat with Danny because I heard what happened there. I’ve not had a chance to speak with Raheem yet. But whatever’s happened we’ll report. Montenegro fans abused England's Danny Rose throughout the game on Monday night 'I don’t want to speculate yet but I know what I heard. We’ll deal with it in the right way, we’ve got to support our players.' Hudson-Odoi, who made his first England start, described the alleged abuse as 'unacceptable'. Speaking to beIN Sports, Hudson-Odoi said: 'Yeah, I don’t think discrimination should be anywhere. As I said, we’re equal. We have to play a fair game and enjoy the moment but when you’re hearing stuff like that from the fans it’s not right. 'It’s unacceptable and hopefully UEFA deal with it properly because when I went over there me and Rosey heard it… all the monkey stuff… we just have to keep our heads, keep a strong mentality and hopefully Rosey’s OK as well and if anything we’ll have a chat and discuss but he’s got a strong mentality, he’s a strong guy, so I think everything will be good and hopefully UEFA do it.' 'It’s not right at all. I was enjoying the game as well so to hear stuff like that it’s never right but like I said you’ve got to have a strong mentality and we’re still delighted with the win.' Regarding Sterling, Hudson-Odoi said: 'Yeah, Raheem’s always helped no matter what he’s been talking to me about it and trying to say “listen, don’t worry about it. It’s football people do it and obviously it’s not right in a game but you’ve got to stay strong, and I’ve spoken to him and Rosey about it at the same time.
