Kyle Edmund's hopes of springing an upset at the Miami Open came to an unhappy end when was left fuming by a rowdy spectator as his match against John Isner reached its climax.

The British No 1 was to go down 7-6, 7-6 against the defending champion, and stopped playing mid-rally when someone called out at 3-5 in the second tiebreak as he tried to stave off defeat.

The usually placid Edmund was furious that umpire Carlo Bernardes declined to replay the point, and he ended up losing the tiebreak 7-3 after a prolonged exchange with the chair. He flatly refused to expand on the incident later.
