Bolton Wanderers have told their staff that a takeover could go through within the next 48 hours, raising hopes that the club's financial turmoil could finally be close to an end.

The troubled Championship outfit managed to grab a two-week stay of execution at the High Court last week, where they faced a winding up petition.
