Amateur rider Tabitha Worsley, who had three metal rods inserted in her back after fracturing two vertebrae in a fall in 2017, completed a fairytale recovery when her first ride at Aintree proved a winning one on Top Wood in the Randox Health Foxhunters Chase.
Worsley, 24, who also had six pins inserted in her back and still has the metalwork in place, rallied her 14-1 mount to re-take the lead on the run-in after he had been overtaken by runnerup Burning Ambition.
