Hazard has long been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, with a move even more likely if Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League this season. A transfer ban imposed on Chelsea for breaking rules on the transfer of underage players is a potential complication, however Real are said to be confident of doing a deal regardless of this hurdle. The only complication is Chelsea, who are reported to want no less than £100million to sell their star player. Chelsea and Real were engaged in a similar negotiation last summer over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, with the Belgian eventually signing for the Spanish giants just before the transfer deadline. The Blues were able to let Courtois go after lining up Kepa Arrizabalaga as a replacement, and signed winger Christian Pulisic last January - in a deal to go through this summer - in what increasingly looks like being in anticipation of Hazard's departure. The 28-year-old has scored 19 goals in 42 appearances for Chelsea so far this season, and claimed 12 assists.
