Horoya AC lost their goalkeeper Khadim Ndiaye after he suffered a double leg break after colliding with his own team-mate. The injury to Senegal international Ndiaye following an attempted slide tackle to clear the ball from goal. Unfortunately team-mate Boubacar Samassekou had the same idea and the incident resulted in the latter's broken leg. After being attended to on the pitch, he was finally carried off on a stretcher. The club confirmed on Sunday that Ndiaye had undergone surgery in Rabat. 'The results are reassuring and he will remain at the Cheick Zaidi University hospital where he will continue his recovery,' Horoya announced on social media. Horoya declined to release information about the length of his recovery period. In an act of good faith though, the Guinean outfit have extended his contract to provide him with some more security. The 34-year-old's contract was due to end this year but the club 'wanted to ensure his immediate future by extending his contract for three years from today (14 April).' Horoya's owner Antonio Souare has also offered Ndiaye a role at the club as part of the technical staff in the future and will pay for his training in Europe.
