Manuel Pellegrini is hoping for some magic from West Ham's new £250,000 claret carpet against Leicester on Saturday.
The previous green surround was criticised in 2017 by then-manager Slaven Bilic, who claimed his players struggled to distinguish between the pitch and its perimeter.
After a lengthy stand-off on the issue with their landlords, the London Legacy Development Corporation, West Ham have this week rolled out a claret carpet in club colours and Pellegrini is expecting the change to be more than decorative.
