Diego Costa has been told by Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone that ‘any player who wants to leave, can leave,’ as the controversial striker returned to training.
Costa received an eight-game ban after being shown a straight red card at Barcelona at the start of the month for telling referee Gil Manzano: ‘s*** on your w**** mother.’
Atletico opened an internal misconduct investigation into Costa’s referee rant, and the striker responded by pulling another stunt, refusing to train with his Atletico Madrid team-mates on Thursday.
