Ian Poulter in the hunt at the RBC Heritage as Masters winner Tiger Woods goes out to party Ian Poulter is five shots off the lead at the RBC Heritage in South Carolina Pan Cheng-tsung is currently top of the leaderboard at 12-under par Tiger Woods enjoyed dinner in his own restaurant on Jupiter Island, FloridaBy Derek Lawrenson for the Daily Mail Published: 22:31 BST, 21 April 2019 | Updated: 23:14 BST, 21 April 2019 Viewcomments Whatever has happened to the Tiger Woods who was once so reclusive when outside the ropes that he named his boat ‘Privacy?’ Tiger showed up for dinner in his own restaurant on Jupiter Island, Florida with his girlfriend Erica Herman over the weekend and did not request a table away from the crowd. He walked through the front entrance wearing his green jacket, and happily posed with his fellow diners. He is truly a man transformed following his life-affirming Masters victory. Ian Poulter is five shots off the lead at the RBC Heritage tournament in South Carolina While Tiger has been savouring the reclamation of his status as America’s leading sporting icon, another 43-year-old was trying to win a Tartan jacket handed out to the winner of the traditional post-Masters event, the Heritage Classic in South Carolina. It did not look good for Ian Poulter after a ropey start but, like Tiger, there is no hiding the evident relish with which he is seizing a second chance in his professional life. As he prepared for the final round in the last group alongside world No 1 Dustin Johnson, it was easy to forget that it was exactly two years to the day that the Englishman missed the cut in the Valero Open in Texas and thought he had lost his playing rights on the PGA Tour. The Englishman has come on strong after making a ropey start to the tournament ‘You haven’t seen the last of me,’ he vowed tearfully at the time, and goodness, hasn’t that been the case, following a pretty remarkable comeback of his own. Indeed, there is a good argument to be made that Poulter is now hitting the ball better than at any time in his life, a fact borne out by his impressively consistent results. In 11 events around the world so far this year, he has not come close to missing a cut, with just one finish outside the top 35. He has had a few chances to win, including at the Masters, where he was right in the thick of it on Sunday until becoming yet another contender to find the water at the 12th. At the Heritage at Harbour Town on Sunday he started slowly, with two early bogeys to fall down a condensed leaderboard, before a birdie at the sixth perked him up. It still left him four behind Irishman Shane Lowry, who has been having a rough time of it since his stirring victory in Abu Dhabi at the start of the year. Tiger Woods is truly a man transformed following his life-affirming Masters victory A missed cut at Augusta left the Irishman with few expectations but he is often at his best in those circumstances. The 32-year-old from Offaly picked up three early shots before an unfortunate three-putt bogey at the ninth left him in a tie for the lead with CT Pan from Taiwan. Johnson was just one behind. Among the early finishers, Tommy Fleetwood closed with a 70 to be tied 25th. Luke Donald could not improve on his amazing record of six top-three finishes in this event as he closed with a 72 for tied 34th place. Matt Fitzpatrick shot 72 for tied 40th while Graeme McDowell double bogeyed the 18th for a 73 to finish among the stragglers.
