Robbie Fowler is set for a return to Australian football, this time as coach of A-League team Brisbane Roar.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Fowler will be taking over the job from next season, with current caretaker boss Darren Davies becoming his assistant coach.

Roar have had a poor season, destined for a ninth place finish with just 18 points from 26 games. Former manager John Aloisi resigned in December after their bad start.
