The Chelsea winger hobbled off in the first half of his side's 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday with the injury that curtails his breakthrough season. He went under the knife on Monday evening and revealed in an Instagram post on Tuesday that the procedure was a success. Callum Hudson-Odoi has shared an update from his hospital bed after surgery on his Achilles Hudson-Odoi could be out for nine months but is hopeful of returning in six Speaking from his hospital bed, Hudson-Odoi said: 'Thank you for all the messages and the support you've been sending me, I really appreciate it. 'I am doing better, I am feeling better, so thank you very much. The road to recovery now.' He also wrote as a caption to the video: 'Opperation was Successful, Thank God always and thank you all for your messages and support,the return begins now!!!' A ruptured Achilles can take as long as nine months to recover from, but Hudson-Odoi is hopeful he can be fit to return inside six months. Hudson-Odoi made his Chelsea debut in the Community Shield last August and has played 28 times this season, scoring five goals. He also made his England debut in March. But his future was placed under intensifying scrutiny in January when he handed in a transfer request to try and push through a move to Bayern Munich. Hudson-Odoi is wanted by several German clubs while Chelsea want him to sign a new deal Chelsea held firm but the German giants could return with a fresh bid in the summer, meaning there is a chance that Monday could have been his last appearance for the Stamford Bridge club. His current contract expires at the end of next season and Chelsea have been trying to entice him into penning a new deal. Sportsmail reported on Tuesday that Chelsea are growing increasingly confident that they can persuade Hudson-Odoi to sign new terms that could be worth as much as £100,000-per-week.
