The future of the forward remains up in the air, with Lukaku currently having to settle for a role on the United bench, as understudy to Marcus Rashford. As recently as October the Belgian star suggested he would like to play for Serie A giants Juventus, and comments from the forward this week have only reinforced this idea. Romelu Lukaku has hinted he is ready to leave Manchester United for Italian football Speaking this week to Sky Italia, Lukaku outlined his 'dream' to play in the Serie A division. 'Playing in Serie A is a dream, it would be really a dream,' said the 25-year-old. The Belgian recently lost his place in the first team and has been coming on from the bench 'I hope to be able to play sooner or later, even if at the moment I am focused on the United.' Lukaku had to settle for a late appearance as United were defeated by rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a late throw of the dice by bringing on Lukaku alongside fellow forwards Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial - though their impact was minimal. The trio played just 11 successful passes between them, as City controlled the tie in the closing stages to take all three points and head to the top of the Premier League. Lukaku this week admitted that the chance to play in Serie A 'would really be a dream' Following the defeat, United remain sixth in the table with three matches left to play. Solskjaer's men sit three points off rivals Chelsea who currently occupy the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot. United face the Blues at Old Trafford on Sunday in what could be a pivotal clash, before finishing off their campaign against Huddersfield and Cardiff.
