West Ham have stepped up interest in Alaves centre-back Guillermo Maripan.
The 6ft 4ins Chilean centre-back has a buy out clause of £21million but West Ham are offering around £9.5m for the 26-year-old.
The Hammers are hopeful of concluding a deal, though are aware interest still exists from Serie A giants Roma.
