Liverpool's Mohamed Salah was in tears as he was stretchered off the field at St James' Park on Saturday night.

With Liverpool's title hopes hanging in the balance, and the game against Newcastle finely poised at 2-2, their star man went down in a heap in the penalty area after colliding with Martin Dubravka.

The accident appeared to knock out the Egyptian striker, who lay on the ground with his eyes closed while concerned Newcastle players checked on him,

With controversy surrounding an incident involving a head injury to Jan Vertonghen in midweek, the medical staff took no chances, opting to take Salah straight off and replace him with Divock Origi.
