After crushing Sir Mo Farah and all others, Eliud Kipchoge will return his focus to beating the clock and a second attempt at an historic sub-two hour marathon in London.
He will reveal his plans on Monday morning on the 65th anniversary of Roger Bannister becoming the first man to run a mile in under four minutes.
Much as that barrier once seemed insurmountable, it has been unthinkable that a man could get under two hours for 26.2 miles.

But Kipchoge, who won his fourth London Marathon eight days ago and holds the world record of 2:01.39, intends to have a second crack at the mark in the capital this October.
The Kenyan, 34, fell just 26 seconds short when he made an attempt in partnership with Nike at Monza in 2017, which was unratified by the IAAF for world record purposes as it involved a wind-shielding truck, drop-in pacemakers and drinks ferried to him by moped. This latest attempt, which is backed by Britain’s richest man, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his company INEOS, will follow a broadly similar formula.
