The curtain came down on Robin van Persie's glittering career with his Feyenoord side defeated 2-0 by ADO Den Haag on Sunday.
The 35-year-old made his final career appearance in Feyenoord's last home league match of the season rather than round off his career in Wednesday's away fixture against Fortuna Sittard.
He hit the woodwork in the first half and was substituted off in stoppage time, where he received a rapturous reception from the Feyenoord supporters.
