Real Madrid's transfer coffers have been swelled to the tune of just over €20million (£17.6m) after the club won an appeal against the European Commission.

Madrid are pursing a host of Premier League stars with Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba top of Zinedine Zidane's wishlist but they are struggling to sell players to help raise the funds for the huge summer spend so the decision is good news for both the club and for Zidane.

The European Union Court of Justice upheld an appeal made by the club against a decision taken in 2016 that found the club guilty of illegal state aid.
