The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has been suspended from its role as the organiser of Olympic boxing at Tokyo 2020 – but the sport has escaped expulsion.
The decision by the International Olympic Committee executive board, which is subject to final approval next month, follows a six-month inquiry into boxing's troubled amateur governing body, looking at its finance, governance, ethics, refereeing and judging.
There were prominent figures inside the sport who feared
