Liverpool earned more prize money than any other Premier League side for the 2018-19 season despite losing out to Manchester City in the title race.

The Reds banked £152.5million compared to City's £151m as Jurgen Klopp's side were more popular with broadcasters.

Matches involving Liverpool were shown live 29 times by Sky Sports and BT Sport — two more than any other club.

And it is therefore no surprise that Jurgen Klopp's runners-up have filled the coffers with higher prize money than any other side in England's top flight.

Clubs are guaranteed a minimum of £12.5m for TV games with an extra £1.2m per live match when shown more than 10 times.

Manchester United's disappointing sixth place finish was reflected in their inferior payment of £142.5m.
