Former Manchester United and Chelsea player Mickey Thomas has revealed he is free of cancer following an operation.

The 64-year-old was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January and started treatment shortly afterwards.

The ex-Wales winger tweeted: 'After a massive operation I have just found out today I am cancer free.
