The German giants have already secured deals for Thorgan Hazard, Julian Brandt and Nico Schulz in the early stages of the summer transfer window and are now plotting another move. According to German newspaper Bild, the club are eyeing up a deal for Juventus striker Mandzukic. Borussia Dortmund are considering launching a deal for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic It is claimed Dortmund chiefs Michael Zorc and Hans-Joachim Watzke are eager to sign an attacker with Mandzukic’s experience to help the club's young offensive stars. It is also claimed that former Bayern Munich chief Matthias Sammer instigated talks between Dortmund and the player. The deal does not seem to have the backing of everyone at the club though with the report claiming manager Lucien Favre is still unconvinced. Italian outlet Calciomercato have also written that the 33-year-old will be allowed to leave Juventus this summer, despite just signing a new deal. Mandzukic made 33 appearances this season and managed 10 goals and seven assists. He would be returning to Germany after spending four seasons in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.
