The batsman reportedly injured his index finger on his left hand during a fielding drill on Friday in Southampton. The ECB confirmed that Morgan will undergo 'a precautionary X-ray' with less than a week to go until England open their World Cup campaign against South Africa at The Oval. Morgan could be ruled out of England's penultimate warm-up game against Australia at the Ageas Bowl on Saturday. They also play Afghanistan on Monday at The Oval before the World Cup begins.
