Distraught Newport County manager Michael Flynn has questioned why VAR was not available to save his side in Saturday's dramatic League Two play-off Final.

Newport's 10 men lost to Tranmere Rovers after Connor Jennings headed a 119th-minute winner. It compounded Newport's misery as Flynn's side felt they were denied a clear penalty just moments earlier when Emmanuel Monthe appeared to foul Newport forward Jamille Matt only for referee Ross Joyce to rule offside.

'All credit to Micky Mellon and Tranmere but justice wasn't served today. It was definite penalty,' stressed Flynn afterwards.
