Joe Marler has left the door ajar to an England comeback — but only if they suffer a major World Cup injury crisis.
The 28-year-old retired from Test rugby last year and will return to Twickenham next Sunday in a Barbarians jersey.
Marler’s impressive club form, coupled with an injury to fellow prop Mako Vunipola, have prompted calls for a return to the England fold.

But Marler claims he would only fly out to Japan for his country if two of Vunipola, Ellis Genge or Ben Moon were ruled out.
He told the Gain Line: ‘If there was an injury crisis and two out of the three props went down then I’d make myself available
