Manchester United are reported to have launched a £70million bid for Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt, as they bid to win the race to sign European football's most in-demand teenager.
De Ligt has featured as one of the stars of the season, helping guide Ajax to the semi-finals of the Champions League by overcoming the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus.
United are desperate to acquire the services of the talented Dutch youngster and have him lead their defensive line into a new era, but face stiff competition from Barcelona.
