A fantastic reward for a fantastic season. The consistency Liverpool have shown and the way they have played with their attacking, free-flowing football has been remarkable.
They did not perform to that level in the final, and Tottenham can feel a little hard done by, but that does not matter. You don’t need to play well to win and Liverpool got over the line.
That is the biggest difference about this Liverpool side, their ability to dig in when they need it. Just look at how Virgil van Dijk kept up with Son Heung-min stride for stride even at the end. The confidence they have when they are not at their best to get the job done is massive.
