Callum Smith's first defence of his world super-middleweight title came a long eight months after he dethroned George Groves in the Saudi desert but lasted barely as many minutes in the air-conditioned comfort of Madison Square Garden.
Poor old Hassan N'Dam was a willing but carefully chosen challenger. Too small and too far down the road of his career to pose any kind of threat.
Smith did what was required of him to keep his WBA belt and open the door to future unification fights.
