A Cricket World Cup official has admitted providing false information about staffing at Trent Bridge last Friday after criticism over long queues.
Adrian Wells, director of marketing and ticketing for the tournament, had told Sportsmail that ‘two or three people’ due to work in the box offices were off sick, which he indicated had played a part in creating two-mile-long queues that lasted two hours.
