Barcelona are still on course to sign Antoine Griezmann at the start of July — with the player taking a pay cut to join the club.

Reports in France say the World Cup winner will earn €17m (£15m) net a season when he signs for Barcelona next month – that would represent a cut of around €6m (£5.3m) on what he picks up in a season at Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann’s wages will rise year on year in what is expected to be a five-year deal and he will be on huge bonuses for winning the Champions League and La Liga that could still see him earn more than at his current club.
